Matt Davis’ current body of work marks society in the information age.

Concerned with a post-contemporary aesthetic in the form of hyperreal vessels, these artefacts aim to challenge perceptions of the ceramic medium and furthering the dialogue of handmade versus machine.

Pushing the boundaries of what is possible with the material, the artist intends his work to be considered as ‘Binary Objects’, a digital / analogue fusion designed to bridge two worlds.

The marriage of these qualities, alongside the re-mastering of archetypal vessel forms, is one part pastiche another part parody in using high technology to make ‘lo-tech’ forms.
